About the Journal

Overview

The Journal of Atmospheric Science and Technology (JAST) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to advancing research in atmospheric science and its technological applications. The journal provides an international platform for the dissemination of high-quality scientific research that integrates theoretical understanding, observational studies, computational modeling, and innovative technological solutions in atmospheric and environmental sciences.

JAST aims to promote interdisciplinary collaboration among scientists, engineers, and researchers working in meteorology, climatology, atmospheric chemistry, remote sensing, and climate-related technologies.

Focus and Scope

The journal welcomes original contributions in, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Atmospheric physics and dynamics

  • Atmospheric chemistry and air quality

  • Meteorology and weather forecasting

  • Climate variability and climate change modeling

  • Remote sensing and satellite-based atmospheric observation

  • Atmospheric instrumentation and measurement technologies

  • Numerical modeling and data assimilation

  • Artificial intelligence and machine learning in atmospheric science

  • Climate services and risk assessment

  • Climate adaptation and mitigation technologies

  • Environmental monitoring and Earth system applications

The journal publishes Research Articles, Review Articles, and Technical Notes that demonstrate scientific rigor, originality, and relevance to atmospheric science and technology.

Publication Frequency

The Journal of Atmospheric Science and Technology (JAST) publishes three issues annually, released in April, August, and December. Each issue contains approximately 5 to 30 articles, with a maximum of 90 articles per volume.

Open Access Policy

JAST provides immediate open access to all published content. This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. All articles are published with open access and are freely available to read, download, and share.

Archiving and Preservation

To ensure long-term digital preservation, JAST participates in distributed archiving systems such as LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe). This system allows participating institutions to maintain secure and permanent archives of journal content.
